Joseph Smith Memorial Building (Hotel Utah)

Opened in 1911, the Beaux-Arts Hotel Utah was a rare cooperative venture of Mormons and non-Mormons, united by their wish for upscale lodgings in Salt Lake City. In 1993, it re-opened as the LDS-owned Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

Opened in 1883, the Oregon State Hospital in Salem is a psychiatric hospital based on the Kirkbride philosophy and famed for its starring role in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The district includes the Dome Building (1912) across the street.
