Rebuilt 1890, reconstructed 1969. Single-storey and attic, ashlar granite centre gable with 3-windows with original glass, ground floor fenestration and rear partly altered.

The village square was laid out on the axis of the church by Sir Archibald Grant in 1716 the centre of the square forming a cattle pound for Banffshire drovers. The original houses were clay-bound stone thatched with heather. The N.S.A. c XVII p.468 describes it as almost entirely rebuilt of late by the proprietor. It was gradually Tudorised by Sir Arthur Grant between 1889 and 1902 Re-categorised as C(S) from B for Group (2006). The listing relates specifically to the group interest of the subject. It applies, as always, to interior as well as exterior, as appropriate to building type.
