Late 19th century. 2 pairs of semi-detached 2-storey 2-bay gabled cottages. Cream squared and snecked sandstone rubble, stugged ashlar dressings; ashlar mullions; bracketed eaves; gables with overhanging eaves, plain bargeboards. NOS 1 AND 2: S (FRONT) ELEVATION: symmetrical; pair of gabled bays at centre (that to right broader and advanced) with tripartite windows at ground and bipartite windows mostly in gablehead; doors (modern to No 1, boarded to No 2) with letterbox fanlights to flanking single storey bays. E AND W ELEVATIONS: gabled; windows to N at ground, to centre at 1st floor (in gablehead). Single storey lean-to recessed to N. N ELEVATION: each cottage with lean-to with window to outer bay, window, and back door to inner bay at ground; bipartite window breaking eaves with gabled dormerhead to 1st floor. NOS 3 AND 4: As above except front gable of No 3 not advanced; No 4 with large gabled 2-storey harled addition to rear. Timber sash and case windows; advanced gables with small diamond panes, otherwise plate glass (modern windows to extension). Grey slates, coped stacks at centre of each block. Cast-iron guttering and downpipes.
