Parochial school of St George's, Bloomsbury Way (qv), now flats. 1879-80. By Joseph Peacock. Yellow brick front with red brick bands, quoins and dressings, some stone dressings. White-painted wooden windows. Heavy plaster cornices above ground and first floor. 3 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-bay composition in Queen Anne style, the left and central bays projecting and uniting under a tall, shaped gable with a central pilaster statue at second-storey level. Entrance door right of centre. INTERIOR not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: a well-preserved school building in the later secular style of Joseph Peacock, who lived locally and who was architect to the parish of St George's, Bloomsbury.
