Obelisk marking City boundary on north side of roadway. Mid C19. Granite. Formerly surmounted by lantern, now replaced by gilded griffin. Forms a pair with an identical obelisk on the south side of the road which is within the City of London. Both of the obelisks were listed in the City of London on 05/06/72 and later included in the LB of Camden list on 14/05/74. Following boundary changes on 1 April 1994, this northernmost obelisk is now situated in the LB of Camden and the southernmost obelisk in the City of London.
