PARISH OF REPTON THE CROSS SK 30/3127 SK 30/3126 6/55 (West side) 19.1.67 No 1 'The Croft', Bursar's Office and Attached Gate Piers to West GV II
House, bursar's office and gate. c1800. Red brick and ashlar with plain tile and Welsh slate roof. Stone coped gables and ashlar gable stacks, and a brick gable stack. Two storeys. East elevation. Main part ashlar faced, of two-four-one bays. The centre four bays project and the ground floor is rusticated. Plain first floor band, moulded cornice and blocking course. Off-centre Tuscan Doric porch with triglyph frieze. Half glazed doors. To the left is a glazing bar sash and to the right five more glazing bar sashes. Seven glazing bar sashes above, the centre four in moulded eared architraves. Gabled, almost free-standing, brick wing to left. Elevation to road has two glazing bar sashes under stone lintels to ground floor and a small 3-light casement above. Dentil eaves cornice. Rusticated ashlar gate piers attached to left. Rear wing to the main house has a Venetian window with a Diocletian window over, and a Trafalgar porch. Interior: Stone flagged entrance and staircase halls. Cantilevered stone staircase with cast iron balusters and wreathed handrail.
