AVEBURY - SU 16 NW 11/33 Alexander Keiller Museum

GV II

Stables for Avebury Manor, since 1938 museum of local antiquities. C18. Sarsen. Stone tiled roof. Seven window bays. Two boarded doors and five 2-light timber windows with leaded glazing. Flush relieving arches over openings. South gable has tall window, now subdivided by floor, and clock tower with hexagonal timber bellcote and leaded roof. Wind vane over. Dormer at north end of 1938.
