LANHYDROCK CUTMADOC SX 06 SE 9/65 The Old Schoolhouse - II

School, now house. Late C19, with C20 alterations. Slatestone and granite rubble with granite dressings. Slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends ; stack to the front left corner, probably inserted. Plan: Originally a main school hall to front, with central entrance ; smaller room to rear right, forming an L-plan, with stack to rear. The rear left of the main hall was a rear entrance lobby. The interior has been partitioned in late C20 as a house. Gothic style. Exterior: Single storey, asymmetrical front ; C20 door with hood mould ; one window to left and two to right, all 3-light chamfered granite windows with hood moulds and casements. The left end has large 3-light mullion and transom window in granite with hood mould. The right end is blind. At the rear is a C20 window and half-glazed door. The rear wing has a hipped roof, two similar 2-light granite casements with hood moulds, and brick stack ; 3-light granite window at the left side. The right gable end of the main range has a weathervane. Interior: Not inspected.
