TA 0339 BEVERLEY SATURDAY MARKET (north side) 9/315 No 8A Saturday Market 2.7.69 GV II Corner site with Ladygate. Early C19,two storeys, painted brick. Hipped slate roof with flat eaves on spaced brackets, three spaced windows. First floor to Ladygate, window to right of 7 x 3 small fixed panes appears to have had hatch, now blocked below - the other two are Yorkshire casements with flat stone arches. Ground floor has entrance across corner and two further doorways to Ladygate, all pilastered with deep friezes and cornices and 3 small windows, one retaining small fixed panes. One window return to Sow Hill with pilastered 3-light ground floor window. Perhaps a public house originally.
