1/43 Urn and pedestal to north of east end of Statue Walk

GV II

Urn and pedestal. Late C19, possibly by William Burges for Lady Mary Vyner. Stone. Overall height approximately 2 metres ; the square pedestal is cushioned out at the base, the urn has a fluted stem and is carved in relief with acanthus-style motifs and swags. The lid has similar decoration and bud finial. William Burges was involved with designs for the south garden in the 1870's, including vases or urns.
