Stewards house now restaurant and shop. c1860 probably for the estate steward to 1st Marquis of Ripon, Viscount Goderick, Earl de Grey; altered c1960. Rendered brick, Westmorland slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, the narrow central gabled bay projecting slightly. Central glazed double door with overlight, flanked by iron-framed bay windows. 3 narrow windows with iron frames to first floor (formerly 4-pane sashes). Wooden modillioned eaves cornice, oversailing eaves; shallow hipped roof; stacks to left and right behind ridge. Right return: shallow projecting bay to right with hipped roof. Included for group value.
