NORTHALLERTON HIGH STREET SE 3693-3793 (west side) 7/34 Nos 171 and 172 (formerly listed as Nos 9.12.69 171/2 (premises occupied by F W Woolworth and Company Limited)) GV II House, now shop. Early C18 with later alterations. Rendered, pantile roof. 3 storeys, 5 bays. Ground floor: C20 shop front. First floor: C20 sash windows with projecting ashlar sills and keyed lintels. Second floor: half-size 4-pane sash windows with projecting ashlar sills and keyed lintels. Between 1st and 2nd floors, three tie-rod plates. Cornice. Shaped kneeler and ashlar coping to left; brick end stacks.
