BUCKLEBURY PEASE HILL SU 57 SE (east side) 6/22 Bucklebury House (formerly listed as The 25.10.51 Old Manor) GV II House. C17 with C18 addition to west and C20 addition to east. Red brick, some timber framing with red brick nogging. Old tile roof, hipped over timber framed part to left; end stack to left, stack to rear and 4 gabled dormers with diamond leaded casements. 2 storeys and attic. South front: 2 first floor diamond leaded cross windows with C20 casement to right, central 6-panelled door with glazed upper lights under segmental head flanked by 3-light leaded casement to left and C20 segmental headed casement to right. Timber frame exposed to left with first floor 2-light casement and ground floor 2-light C20 casement. Block to left: C18. Red brick with old tile half hipped roof. 2 storeys. First floor C20 leaded 2-light casement to right, and ground floor 3- light C20 casement to left. Block to right: C20. Red brick with half hipped tile roof and 3 gabled semi dormers. 1 1/2 storeys. This is all that remains of Bucklebury Manor House, burnt down in 1830. V.C.H, Vo.3, p.291.
