SP 1037 BROADWAY CP HIGH STREET (south side) 9/115 No 145 (Orchard Farm Cottage) 30.7.59 GV II House. Late C17 and 1722. Limestone rubble with stone slate roof. Two storeys with attic. East wall has a 4-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window with hood on the ground floor, and a similar window of three lights within a gable lighting the first floor. At the left on the ground floor are two windows with plain reveals. The right-hand part of the facade is covered by a lean-to addition. Chimney at right. The right-hand (north) gable wall of this range has a 3-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window with hood on each floor. The ground floor one may be a C20 copy. To its left is a small window with plain reveals. To the right, beyond a straight joint, is a two-bay addition. It has 2-light rebated and chamfered mullioned windows, with hoods on the ground floor, and two attic dormers. Between bays is a blocked doorway with cyma-moulded surround, now containing a 2-light window. Above is a plaque inscribed: "WAS 1722". Chimney at right. Interior: exposed chamfered beams, and stone inglenook with bressummer in C18 wing.
