Office block. C1906-10 by W. and E. Hunt. Portland stone faced, slate roof. Bold neo-Grec design of early date for this style. 4 storeys, with ground floor and 1st floor cum mezzanine as a podium, and basement. 5 bays wide. Arcaded rusticated podium has entrance in central bay treated as an Ionic columned aedicule- porch with pediment rising in front of mezzanine window in tympanum of arch; shop windows flanking, with fret-ornamented band at impost level and scrolls to key blocks of arcade. The architraved metal casements of upper floors are framed by the giant Ionic order which rises from the podium to a heavy dentilled entablature with wreaths over the columns and antae with acroteria faced stops above, moulded bandcourse to 2nd floor and enriched cornices to 2nd floor windows with open cartouche pediment to central window. No 43 Great Portland Street with stone facade of similar character but plainer.
