TQ 2782 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER SUSSEX PLACE, REGENT'S PARK, NWL 34/8 5.2.70 Nos 1 to 26 (consec) (London Graduate School of Business Studies) G.V. I Unified terrace block (rebuilt behind front as business school). 1822-23 by John Nash (built by William Smith) as part of Nash's Regent's Park Crown Estate development. Stucco, slate roofs and pointed metal domes. Palatial quadrant ended composition with private garden to front and entrances originally to rear. The most eccentric of Nash's terraces with painted dome-capped canted bay-turrets to wings, the junction with quadrants and flanking centrepiece with uniform giant colonnade between screening remaining floors; features adapted from a Nash scheme for rebuilding Carlton House. 3 main storeys and attic storey. 6-bay centrepiece, flanked by 9-bay ranges and 7-bay quadrants between the canted bay-turrets, 2 of which flank the east fronts of the wings. Recessed glazing bar sashes, segmental arched to ground floor of canted bay-turrets. Segmental arcaded ground floor loggia-podium with balustraded parapet, above which rises giant Corinthian colonnade carrying continuous entablature with balustraded parapet in front of attic set back on main ranges with crowning cornice and pediment over centrepiece but advanced as top floor of canted bay-turrets surmounted by spike finialed pointed domes.
