THORNTON DALE HIGH STREET SE 88 SW (north side) 9/106 York House GV II House. Two builds, both probably C17; raised in C19; altered in C20. Cruck-framed, encased in dressed sandstone and coursed sandstone rubble; tooled quoins to right; pantile roof; brick stacks. 3-cell, hearth-passage plan with rear service room added. 2 low storeys; 3-window front. Left of centre C20 door with glazed lights, flanked by C20 5-light casements with glazing bars, bowed to the left; 3-light, small-pane horizontal sliding sash to end right. Large-pane horizontal sliding sashes to first floor. Painted timber lintels to all openings. End and centre stacks. Interior: one pair of jointed full crucks with saddle survive in the room to the left. Studding remains in position between the tie and collar beams. Roof thatch is preserved beneath pantiles.
