SE6052SW DEAN'S PARK 1112-1/13/288 Gates and railings to Dean's Park

GV II

Gates and railings forming entrances and boundaries to Dean's Park on north-east side. 1839; repositioned 1863 and later. By the Walker Foundry. Gates, railings and gates piers of cast-iron; chamfered stone walls. Railings are square sectioned with tapering tips, set diagonally on low walls, in some places with turned standards with urn finials. Gates of the same rails, some incorporating arched braces. Gate piers vary, some being cylindrical with mushroom caps, some octagonal with trefoil headed panelled sides and pomegranate finials.
