Offices. Early C18 and mid C19, with C20 alteration. Rear of C18 orange-red brick in stretcher bond, orange-grey brick in random bond elsewhere, with orange brick dressings; timber doorcase; slate roof, hipped towards river, with brick stack. 6-bay front of 1, 2 and 3 storeys. Pedimented doorcase in EXTERIOR: 3-storey part has door of 6 raised and fielded panels. 2-storey part has steps up to 4-panel door with segmental arch. Windows are 4-pane sashes with segmental arches. Front towards river: 3 storeys, 3 windows; 1-storey pent extension with brick dentil cornice to ground floor. Windows similar to main front, except for one 12-pane sash at right end of extension. Rear: 3 storeys, 6 bays. Raised stepped brick band to first floor. INTERIOR: not inspected. No.4B incorporates part of No.10 Lendal (qv). Included for group value as part of a significant group of buildings on Lendal.
