SE6052SW MINSTER YARD 1112-1/27/717 Lamp standard approx 10 metres west of York Minster

GV II

Lamp standard. c1860. Manufactured by the Walker Foundry, Walmgate, York. Cast-iron. Octagonal column with trefoil headed panelled sides surmounted by tapering octagonal shaft on moulded pedestal, with plain cross bar and cusped and traceried spandrels. Two lanterns are square and tapering with acorn finials. (York Historian: Haxby D and Malden J: Thomas Haxby of York (1729-1796): York: 1978-: 51).
