  1. MARKET RACE 1549 (South Side) Town Hall. Town Hall Hotel. NZ 1700 NW 1/159 1.8.52.

  1. All one building of 1756. Rubble with front in stucco with rusticated quoins and band between storeys. Moulded eaves cornice and one stone slate roof over all. Range of three windows on either side of central porch, with stone surround and keystones. The Town Hall has a rusticated archway with keystone and a plain small storage door. Large five-sided C19 stone porch forms entrance to Town Hall. Hotel entrance has engaged Tuscan columns with plain entablature. Three square public house windows on ground floor. East face of Hotel hass large central first floor window in Venetian style with Gothic glazing bars. Interior has simple double staircase. Rooms are plain but characteristic of their period.
