  1. MARKET PLACE 1549 (North Side) ------------ Kings Head Hotel NZ 1700 NW 1/141 1.8.52.

II* GV

  1. Late C17/early C18 red brick with rusticated stone quoins. Moulded stone string course above ground and first floor window lintels. Matule and moulded eaves cornice. Hipped stone slate roof. Eight windows in moulded stone frames with keystones and moulded stone cills, hung sashes with glazing bars. Original doorcase to right has moulded stone shouldered architrave; central and left doorcases are modern with enriched friezes and pediments. Moulded capping to stone plinth. Rendered to King Street elevation.
