TQ 3080 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER STRAND LANE, WC2 73/23 No 5 (The "Roman" Bath) 24.2.58 G.V. II Plunge bath. Probably no earlier than early C17. Red brick lined. The bath is in a vault under late C19 building, oblong in plan with a semicircular end, fed by a spring. It is now in the care of the National Trust. Literary associations with David Copperfield, Dickens. R C H M.
