Includes: Nos. 10/11 BAINTON ROAD Two houses, formerly sub-divided. Early/mid C18. Limestone rubble with wooden lintels. Concrete plain-tile roofs with brick stacks. Single range with rear outshuts. 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-window front of Nos.10 and 11 (now one house) has a central entrance with a plank door, formerly serving an access passage, and retains 2-light leaded casements in the outer bays. No.8/9 has 3 similar leaded casements at first floor, but the doorway is flanked by C20 bow windows; the right bay is slightly lower. Roofs have catslides to rear. Interior: No. 10 has a small open fireplace with a late C18/early C19 panelled wooden surround, and has a stair with winders. Interior of Nos.8/9 not inspected. Adjoining house No.7 to right [E] is not included. Forms a group with the Church of St. Peter (q.v.) and The Old Rectory (q.v.). (VCH: Oxfordshire; Vol VI; pp72)
