EYNSHAM MILL STREET SP4309 (West side) 14/149 No.3 12/09/55 (Formerly listed as House adjoining The Hermitage to S)

GV II

House. Late C17. Colourwashed squared and coursed limestone; gabled concrete tile roof; brick left end stack. L-plan with rear right wing. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Coved cornice at storey level over C20 door set in old heavy pegged frame with overlight and flanked by tripartite sashes; keyed flat stone arches over 6-pane first-floor sashes. Rear: stair-turret adjoins early C18 rear wing, of render over timber frame and limestone rubble; gabled C20 tile roof and ridge stack of stone finished in brick. Interior: stop-chamfered beam and smoke chamber to right; boxed beam to left; stone steps to cellar with chamfered beams. Winder stairs to rear. First floor has stop-chamfered and cased beams. 3-bay collar-truss roof with butt purlins.
