NORTHALLERTON HIGH STREET SE 3693-3793 (west side) 7/41 No 180 (Harewood Arms Inn) and No 181 9.12.69 (the latter formerly listed as No 181 (premises occupied by Merediths)) GV II Inn, partly converted into shop. Mid C18, with later alterations. Painted brick in Flemish bond, C20 pantile roof. 3 storeys, 4 bays. In 3rd bay, segmental-arched carriage entrance; C20 shop front in 4th bay; canted bay windows in first two bays, the second also serving as inn entrance. First floor, first 3 bays: 4-pane sash windows with flush exposed sash boxes, projecting ashlar sills and flat arches; canted bay window in 4th bay. Second floor: smaller 4-pane sash windows with flush exposed sash boxes, projecting ashlar sills and flat arches. Dogtooth eaves band. Shaped kneeler to right. Ashlar coping. Brick stacks at ends and between 3rd and 4th bays.
