9/42 Hornby Lodge
GV II
Lodge. Late C18 - early C19. For the Duke of Leeds of Hornby Castle (qv). Sandstone ashlar with herringbone tooling within draughted margins, roof not visible. 2 storeys, 1 bay. Plinth. Ground floor: to right, board door in 4-centred arched chamfered surround with hoodmould. Windows are mullioned with hoodmoulds, and have casement lights of small panes, pointed at the top. Ground floor, to left: 2-light window. String course. First floor: 3-light window. String course supporting crenellated parapet. Right return: one bay of 2-light windows. Added single-storey rear range not of special interest.
