COLSTERWORTH HIGH STREET SK 9224-9324 (west side) 11/20 No.48 (Thirtle) 24.9.79 G.V. II Former public house, now house. 1789 with minor C19 and C20 alterations. Squared limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, concrete tiled roof, red brick gable stack. 3 storey, 3 bay front with central C20 door and overlight having inset boot scrapers to each side, flanked by single margin lights. To first floor 3 similar windows. Ground and first floor opening have segmental stone heads with raised keystones. To second floor a central datestone with "1789" in raised numbers is flanked by single 2 light sliding glazing bar sashes with flat splayed arches. Over the door is a faded sign painted onto the stonework "Thirtle" with end scrolls.
