6/42 Wallspit (formerly listed as 8.1.70 Wallspit House) GV II

House 1791 with alterations and additions. Brown brick with stone plinth, rusticated quoins and bracket cornice to front. Stone-slate roof with flush chimneys at gables. Symmetrical front of 3 storeys and 3 windows; blocked opening painted as window at centre of 3rd storey. Recessed 16-pane sashes under flat gauged-brick arches to lower storeys; 8-pane sashes (beneath cornice) to 3rd storey. Round arched rusticated surround to recessed porch contains 6-panel door under looped radical-bar fanlight. Oval plaque above entrance J J & M 1791. Outbuildings at rear not included.
