CATTERICK LOW GREEN SE 29 NW (north side) 8/40 No 32 Stepping Stones House and No 34 (formerly listed as 4.2.69 No 32/34)

GV II 2 houses, now 1 with art gallery. No 32: mid - late C18; no 34 late C18 - early C19. No 32: coursed dressed rubble with herringbone tooling and ashlar dressings, Westmorland slate roof; no 34: coursed rubble, C20 pantile roof. 2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows each. No 32: plinth, chamfered rusticated quoins. Central part-glazed door in architrave with paterae and fluting on frieze, cornice. Ground-floor windows: canted bays with sashes with glazing bars with paterae and fluting on frieze. First-floor windows: 16-pane sashes in architraves, sill band. Ashlar coping with ball finials on kneeler. Brick end stacks. Rear elevation: round-arched staircase window with decorative glazing bars. Concrete interlocking tile roof. No 34: to left. To right, part-glazed 6-panel door. To left, studded board double doors under timber lintel. Between the doors, 2 sash windows. First floor: 4-pane sashes. Brick stacks at end left and between windows 1 and 2. Left-hand bay originally part of no 36.
