GV II
Ha-ha, gate piers and gate. Mid C18. For Robert Conyers Darcy, Earl of Holderness, of Hornby Castle (qv). Coursed rubble ha-ha, ashlar gate piers, wrought-iron gate. Ha-ha of semicircular plan, approximately one metre high, with saddleback coping. Central opening, with ha-ha wall returning to flank 5 ashlar steps and, at corners, square gate piers with pyramidal caps. Gate has plain round bars.
