4/33 Gatehouse approximately 80 metres to south of Jervaulx Hall
GV II
Gatehouse. Early C19. Ashlar, stone slate roof. Semi circular arc marked on O S map as 'Lodge', flanked by small lodges with shell niches. Corniced capitals and faceted keystone to arch. Parapet in form of entablature with Jacobean-style finials and semi circles. Within archway, 4-centred arched heads to chamfered surround doorways with studded board doors into lodges. Rear elevation with a 3-light mullioned window to each lodge, 3 pitched roofs.
