Terrace of eight houses. Built 1849. Stuccoed brick. Slate roof with gabled ends and deep eaves. Brick axial stacks with cornices and square yellow clay pots. PLAN: Terrace of eight houses, each with entrance passage to right or left of front room and with stairs at the back. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, basement and attic. 16-bay east front with 16-pane sashes; round-headed doorways to left or right of ground floor windows with semi-circular fanlight and panelled door; recessed round-headed panels above doorways in moulded architraves; egg-and-dart eaves cornice and moulded stringcourses at first floor cill level and raised over ground floor windows and doorways as dripmoulds. At rear first floor windows in plain architraves; some retain original casements with margin panes. Small front gardens with area railings on low stuccoed walls with panelled gate-piers. INTERIOR of No.25 has original dog-leg staircase with stick balusters and turned newels; panelled doors and round arch in hall. A good example of an early Victorian classical stuccoed terrace of houses with considerable group value.
