HOLYWELL STREET 1. 1485 (North Side) No 17 SP 5106 NE 6/211 12.1.54. II GV 2. House No RCHM 207. A C16-C17 3-storeyed roughcast timber-framed front with 2 gables in which are 2 tall early C18 sash winsows in moulded frames. There are brick stacks. The ground floor has a wide modern 3-light casement window; there are 2 doorways, that on the East being the front door and this has a moulded wood square-headed frame with enriched stop chamfers and a rectangular fanlight above; the base of this doorway is ancient but the fanlight frame is renewed. The lst floor has 2 C18 sash windows in moulded frames. On the West and behind the front gables is another similar gable which is probably C16-17. Interior: RCHM p 181 b. Includes a late C17 staircase, stone fireplace and doorframe.

All the listed buildings on the North Side form a group.
