Obelisk. Probably mid-late C18 for Alan or William Johnson of Temple Belwood. Brown brick with sandstone ashlar dressings. Brick pedestal with plain ashlar base and cap, surmounted by brick obelisk with pointed ashlar cap. The south side of the obelisk contains 3 rectangular openings, somewhat damaged, probably nesting holes. Overall height approximately 10 metres. Reputedly built in memory of a favourite horse and hound. In serious disrepair at time of resurvey. N Pevsner and J Harris, The Buildings of England: Lincolnshire, 1978, p 188.
