CHURCH ROAD 1. 5245 (South Side) Church of St Matthias SO 7847 17/113 II 2. 1844-6 by Sir G G Scott, enlarged and altered 1880-1 by F W Hunt. Tower of 1899. Style of circa 1300 with lancets and tracery. Malvern stone and ashlar dressings. Tile roof with triangular lights. Crenellated tower with buttresses and paired belfry windows. Nave has alternate octagonal and circular columns. Painted screen, and former reredos in aisle. King post roof.
