5/59 Stables, Coach house and bakehouse at Hall Farmhouse

GV II

Stables, coach house and bakehouse. Early C18 and early C19. Brick with plain tile roof. Dentillated eaves. 2 storeys, 4 unequal bays. L-plan. North side has to the right, a close boarded door flanked to left by a blocked doorway and beyond, a 3 light cross casement with leaded glazing. To its right, 3 three light cross casements with openings with segmental heads. To the left, a large pair of carriage doors with segmental heads and a wooden lintel, flanked by single doors, that to right with a segmental head. Above, to the right, a 3 light lead glazed iron casement and to its right, 2 two light barred casements. To the left, a square hatch over the carriage doors, flanked to left by a similar hatch and to right by a pattern of breathers. In the return angle to the left, a broken out doorway and a carriage opening, both with segmental heads. South side has to left, a casement, and to right 2 smaller casements, with segmental heads. Above, a slightly off-centre loading door and to its left, a breather and a 2 light casement. West gable has a central plank door and above it, a 3 light casement. Above again, a 2 light casement, all with segmental heads. The interior has chamfered beams, a single purlin roof, gypsum plaster floors and oak stair. West end has bakehouse with range, crane, oven and 3 coppers. 2 beaded plank doors. Outside, to west, a stone coped brick boundary wall forming a square enclosure 5 M square.
