NONINTON EASOLE STREET TR 25 SE (east side) 3/126 Southdown Cottage 23.4.80 GV II* House. C13. Timber framed and exposed large panel frame with plaster infill. Thatched roof. Hall house plan. One storey and attic on plinth of flint with hipped roof with stack to centre and raking dormer to end right. Four wooden casements on ground floor and 4 light mullioned window and boarded door to centre with weather boarded outshot to end right. The end left bay, although it appears a later addition blocking some form of bracket is fully framed to rear. Interior; evidence of early hall house with 12 foot square hall and trussed rafter roof (see B.O.E. Kent 1983,404; see also A.Sutton, Nonington, 1975).
