BRIGHTWELL CUM SOTWELL CHURCH LANE SU5790 (East side) Brightwell 5/6 The Abbot's House 31/08/73 GV II House. Probably mid C17. Cobble stone plinth; large timber framing with painted brick infill to ground floor, rendered infill to first floor; thatch roof with catslide to right end; brick ridge stack to centre. 2-storey, 7-bay, 4-window range. Plank door to left of centre with C20 open thatched porch. Irregular fenestration of casements, Interior not inspected but noted as having C17 wall and ceiling painting of figures to first floor room.
