St Mary's Church

Fairford Church is an exceptionally harmonious and well-preserved Cotswolds church. Funded by a wool merchant and consecrated in 1497, it boasts the most complete set of medieval stained glass in the UK.

Former manse, now private house. Late C18/early C19. Coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins to right, stone slate roof, brick ridge stack and renewed stone end stack to left.

Two adjoining houses forming one building. Late C19, probably refronting an older fabric. Ashlar front on coursed rubble stone, front roof too high to be visible, rear in stone slates to Terrance House, asbestos cement slates to Hughendon House.

Farmhouse. Possibly 1708, with late C18 or early C19 additions. Coursed rubble stone with alternating flush quoins, stone slate roof with coped verges and kneelers, and ashlar end stacks with moulded cornices and offsets.

Row of four cottages adjoining No 7 (q.v.) to east. Mid/late C18, restored late C20 by Ernest Cook Trust, the owners. Coursed rubble stone, slate roof to front, concrete tiles to rear, renewed brick stacks.

Gatepiers and flanking walls up to junction with higher square piers on both sides. Square coursed rubble piers with ashlar bands, moulded cornice and gadrooned ball finials, total height about 3m.
