CHURCHILL SP2824-2924 16/51 The Chequers
GV II
House, now inn. Late C18/early C19 with later additions and alterations. Roughly coursed limestone rubble; stone slate roof. L-plan with short range to rear on right. 2 storeys and attic. 3 bays. Mid-to late C19 casements with wedged lintels, all of 3 lights except centre window on first floor of 2. Central C20 boarded door under contemporary open half-hipped porch. Gabled dormers in roof slope to left and right. Integral end stacks with stepped red brick capping. Single-storey hip-roofed projection attached to left gable end. Interior. Left ground-floor room of main range has chamfered spine beam. [2493]
