CHIPPING NORTON GODDARDS LANE SP 3027-3127 3/73 No 9, The Chequers Public - House GV II Public House. C17 of coursed and squared rubblestone and stucco to the top floor possibly masking timber framing with a gabled slate roof with dressed stone copings and 2 stone stacks with brick caps. L-shaped plan, 2 storeys and attic. Irregular C20 fenestration to W and S fronts on the ground floor, but the deep reveal of a refenestrated window under the S gable suggests that it was once a 2-light mullioned window. There is a further blocked 2-light mullioned window on the E wall at first floor height. C19 lean-to parlour inserted in the angle of the 2 wings with sash windows.
