BUCKNELL NEW ROW SP52NE (South side) 4/23 Nos.28 (The Thatches) and 30 - II

Three small houses, now 2 dwellings. Early C18. Coursed limestone rubble with wooden lintels; thatch roof with rebuilt brick gable stacks. L-shaped range of 2-unit plans. 2 storeys and one storey plus attic. Main wing has the 2-window fronts of both houses with mostly 2-light casements and each with central doorways. No.28 to left has wooden casements and a C20 porch; No.30 has old leaded casements, a 4-panel door, and has a single-storey bay to extreme right with a further entrance and casement Long wing returning from left end, of one storey plus attic, is now part of No.28 but was originally a separate house; it has 2-light casements and C20 dormers.
