SP4735 ADDERBURY HIGH STREET (West side) Adderbury East 7/63 Group of 2 chest tombs approx. 9m S and a headstone approx. 8m S of south transept of Church of St. Mary
GV II 2 chest tombs and a headstone. Dated 1684, 1697 and 1671. Marlstone. Chest tombs are of similar design and have deeply-overhanging moulded covers, recessed corners and fielded panels to all sides, the long sides each with one broad and 2 narrow panels. Inscriptions are largely illegible but include the dates 1684 and 1697. Low headstone has an arched recessed panel flanked by barleytwist pilasters supporting a broken triangular pediment enclosing an oval cartouche. Inscription is partly illegible but includes the date 1671.
