HUMSHAUGH CHESTERS NY 9070 14/220 Terrace walls to south of Chesters

GV II

Terrace walls, probably early C20. Drystone, in irregular courses, with cut dressings. Flat coped retaining wall, decreasing in height at front, around circular lawn. Central flight of 8 + 8 steps; flanking terraces end in curving flights of concave and convex steps. Ball finials flanking steps and at ends of walls.

Important group value with Chesters south front.
