Side view. Located on the western outskirts of Rapid City, South Dakota, the Chapel in the Hills is a full-scale replica of the 12th-century Borgund Stave Church in Norway. It was built in 1969 by a local benefactor and is associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Worship services are held here every evening in the summer.
