  • Church of St Pynnochus St. Pinnock, England

    Parish church with Norman cruciform origins. Tower rebuilt circa late C14 with circa C15 rebuilding of nave. Latter half of C15 north transept demolished and south aisle with 4-bay arcade erected. Circa C16 porch.

    Headstone for Elias Geake, d.1863, Catherine Geake d.1868 and Austine Geake, d.1875. Granite. Stepped square base with inscription on square plinth.

  • Milestone, 1/2 Mile SW of Trago Farm, E Taphouse St. Pinnock, England

    Milestone, circa 1760. Cast iron, whitewashed. About 2½ feet in height, rounded top with canted sides. Black upper case serif lettering in relief in semi- ircular arrangement: 'Liskeard 5½' and 'Lostwith 6'.

    Railway Viaduct, 1854-5 by I K Brunel. Heightened in 1882. 7 piers of roughly dressed, coursed slatestone from Westwood quarry. At 60 foot approx. centres.

    House now private house, circa late C16 with later remodelling in C19 and C20. Rubblestone, rendered in mid C20 with lined pattern (known locally as Polperro ripple). Slate roof with gabled end on the left and hipped on the right.

    Farmhouse, circa early to mid C18, late C18 wing to rear and C19 outshut. Rubble stone with scantle slate roof with gabled ends. Large projecting stack, rendered with brick shaft on left-hand gable end.

    Rectory, now private house. Built for Rev. James Rawlings by Samuel Bone in 1836 on the site of an earlier rectory and possibly incorporates some earlier masonry. Stuccoed stone with slate roof with hipped ends around central well.

    Stone hedge with datestone 1795. Coursed irregular blocks of slatestone and some quartz forming a Battered dry-stone hedge of about one metre wide and 3 metres long. Date carved in slatestone rectangular block about one metre from east end.

  • Milepost W of Gelly Copse Cottage (NGR SX1909764205) St. Pinnock, England

    Cast iron milepost of c.1820, rectangular post with rounded head. The relief lettering, in Roman capitals, is cast in an arc around the distance. The west face reads LISKEARD 4 ½, the east face reads LOSTWITHIEL 7.
