Richard Kingsmill monument - St Michael's church Highclere
The tomb chest of Sir Robert Kingsmill of Highclere dates from c.1601 and depicts the recumbent effigy of Sir Richard in the black robes and cap of a Tudor magistrate. His only daughter Constance is kneeling alongside her husband in armour behind, with their children six boys and four girls the "weepers" below. The gap between the four daughters may signify a deceased infant or stillbirth.
