  • Lowell Covered Bridge Dexter, Oregon 1945

    Rebuilt in 1945 after the 1907 original was damaged by a passing truck, the Lowell Bridge is the widest covered bridge in Oregon.

    Recently rebuilt, the Chambers Railroad Bridge is the last covered railroad bridge remaining in Oregon. It was built by the Oregon, Pacific and Eastern Railroad in 1936 to provide access to a sawmill in Cottage Grove.

    The first bridge on this site was built in the 1880s; the present Parvin Bridge (a.k.a. Lost Creek Bridge) dates from 1921. Bypassed and restricted to pedestrians in the 1970s, it was restored in 1986 and is once again open to traffic.
