Nestorian

Christian sect originating in Asia Minor and Syria that follows the heretical beliefs of Nestorius, a 5th-century bishop of Constantinople. Nestorius stressed the independence of the divine and human natures of Christ and, in effect, suggested that they were two persons loosely united. Most of its approximately 170,000 members live in Iraq, Syria, and Iran.
